Santuario Shalpa is our personal oceanfront sanctuary, shared with guests as their own peaceful retreat. Perched above a quiet black sand beach with private access and close to the amenities of Surf City’s restaurants—15 minutes to El Zonte and near El Tunco—it offers open ocean views, a private pool, shaded lounges, and a calming design. A place to unwind, gather, and truly restore.

Welcome to Santuario Shalpa, our family’s lovingly renovated hideaway perched above one of El Salvador’s most serene and untouched beaches. We created this space as our own sanctuary—somewhere to breathe, slow down, and reconnect with nature. Now, we’re opening it to guests who seek the same sense of peace, grounding, and renewal. This is a home with a soul, shaped by the raw beauty of this coast and the healing power of the ocean.

Master Suite (Main House):
Our favorite room in the home—complete with a private balcony overlooking the endless blue of the Pacific.
Bedroom 2 (Main House):
A bright, comfortable room with two single beds, ideal for kids or adults. Shares a hallway full bathroom.
Bedroom 3 (Lower Floor):
A private, tucked-away suite with an extraordinary up-close ocean view with 1 large single and 1 double bed. This room has a lower ceiling, giving it a cozy, coastal hideaway feel, and includes its own entrance and full bathroom—perfect for guests wanting solitude while still staying close to the sea.
Our Casita:
A fully detached master suite with its own full bathroom—a quiet, romantic refuge for couples or anyone craving extra privacy.

Santuario Shalpa is ideal for wellness retreats, family gatherings, remote work escapes, or anyone seeking a deeper kind of rest. This is the sanctuary that restored us, and we hope it offers you the same sense of peace, comfort, and renewal.

Guest access
Our guests will enjoy full access to the property including pool, outdoor areas, outdoor dining and BBQ space, indoor social spaces. Laundry use is restricted with use for our staff , but services available by request.
Parking can accommodate up to 3 cars with additional space if requested.

Our main access road is unpaved and it is recommended to have a vehicle with higher ground clearance and 4WD-SUV or similar. This road may have bumps and mud during rainy season.

Other things to note
Santuario Shalpa is our family’s personal retreat — a place we built after falling deeply in love with the raw, untouched beauty of this coastline. This home is our sanctuary, a space that has helped us slow down, breathe easier, and reconnect with ourselves. When you stay here, you’re borrowing our slice of paradise, not checking into a timeshare. We hope you feel the same sense of restoration that drew us here.

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM unless otherwise arranged.

The villa was recently renovated and uses crystal-clear well water; we also provide fresh spring drinking water.

All bedrooms include air conditioning. The open-concept living and dining area is designed to welcome in the ocean breeze with ceiling fans and wide openings to the sea.

Bath towels are provided. Beach towels are provided.

We offer fiber-optic internet, with both WiFi and wired ethernet. However, we encourage guests to unwind and and let the rhythms of the ocean be their soundtrack.

El Salvador is experiencing a vibrant revitalization, yet it remains wonderfully wild and natural. With this comes the occasional power or internet interruption, especially during rainy season — part of the authentic charm of a place still rooted in nature.

We are honored to share this retreat with you. May your time here bring rest, clarity, and a sense of grounding that lasts long after you leave.

The property is located in a naturally rugged coastal environment with uneven ground, rocks, and stairs throughout the outdoor areas. Guests should be comfortable navigating stairs and variable terrain.

Due to the natural terrain and elevation of the property:
-Children require close supervision at all times when outdoors
-The property may not be suitable for guests with mobility limitations
