The space

Our property backs onto wetlands and fronts onto the beach which is part of a National Wildlife Refuge.

The refuge has habitats and resident plants, trees, birds (Scarlett McCaws), insects, and wildlife in common with its more famous and much more crowded neighbors to the south, Manuel Antonio National Park and to the north, Carara National Park.

Playa Hermosa Puntarenas is a sleepy beach town and a great place to catch some waves or relax on the black sand beach. Playa Hermosa offers world-class surfing (with Surf Competition every Saturday at Vida Hermosa).

Playa Hermosa Puntarenas is located south of Jaco and about 1 hour 30 minutes southwest of the capital, San José (and not to be confused with Playa Hermosa in Guanacaste)
