The space

Playa La Perla is a peaceful fishing village where life follows the rhythm of the ocean.

The property is a small coastal home shared between friendly locals and travelers. I live on-site, and there is one long-term resident. A second guest room may occasionally be available to other travelers.

Guests share the kitchen and shaded patio, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment. Because of the layout, other guests may occasionally walk past your door to reach their room.

🌡️ The room does not have air conditioning — it’s cooled naturally by ocean air and a ceiling fan, staying comfortable most of the year.

🌊 The property sits right by the ocean, and the sound of waves breaking can be quite present, especially at night. Many guests describe it as deeply relaxing — a natural lullaby and part of the true beachfront experience.

🌧️ The rainy season (May to October) brings short tropical showers, often in late afternoon or evening. Rain on the tin roof can sound quite loud — but it’s also extremely refreshing and brings an experience that’s not negligible on its own. Many guests enjoy it as part of the coastal charm, though light sleepers might bring earplugs.

The home is simple, safe, and full of coastal charm — ideal for travelers seeking authenticity and the real rhythm of Salvadoran beach life.

Guest access

Guests have access to their private room, shared kitchen, dining area, large pool area, beachfront palapa, and outdoor patio.
The beach is just steps away — perfect for morning walks or sunset views. Each room has its own secure lock and key.

Please note: this is a shared home, and at times there may be other short-term guests or local residents on-site.

Everyone values a calm, respectful, and friendly atmosphere — perfect for those who enjoy connection without crowds.

During your stay

I’m often on-site to welcome guests personally, but I occasionally travel between Canada and El Salvador.
When I’m away, a trusted local host greets guests and is available for any needs. Either way, you’ll always have someone nearby to help if needed, and you can enjoy your stay at your own pace.

Playa La Perla is a peaceful, welcoming fishing village that offers an authentic glimpse of Salvadoran coastal life.

There are no supermarkets or nightlife here — just the sound of the ocean, friendly neighbors, and calm, easy days.
For a change of pace, El Zonte (15 min) and El Tunco (30 min) offer restaurants, cafés, and a lively surf scene.

Because services and transport are limited locally, renting a car or scooter is highly recommended if you plan to explore or dine out.

📹 For everyone’s comfort and property care, discreet outdoor cameras monitor the staircase, driveway, gate, and pool area.

🐾 Friendly dogs live on the property. They’re calm, gentle, and used to visitors — one even enjoys an occasional swim in the pool or the sea!
